| Description: |
| This position is responsible for assigning ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes based on dictated physician records while applying appropriate coding guidelines. In addition, the coder may be required to answer internal/external coding questions or complete special coding projects.
|
| Requirements: |
-Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC.) certification required
-Knowledge of basic payer coding requirements (HMOs, PPO’s, IPA’s, Medicare Part B, Work Comp)
-Ability to handle high volume of coding
-Familiar with E/M and procedure coding
-Radiology and/or surgery experience a plus
-Proficiency in the use of ICD 9 and CPT assignments
-Preferred Specialty Knowledge(but not required)in Radiology, Cardiology, ENT, Surgery
